Jeremy Schieffelin

Film & TV composer Jeremy Schieffelin works out of
Los Angeles and New York City. His music is
diverse, varying in style from classical tradition to
contemporary forms and genres, and at times
creating a hybrid between the two. His recording
studio is cutting edge, utilizing state-of-the-art digital
technologies in addition to live orchestral and
contemporary instruments.


Bio

Jeremy Schieffelin was born in Los Angeles, California. In California he studied music theory and composition at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. In his mid-twenties he moved to New York with ambitions to work in the film and television business writing and directing, in addition to pursuing his musical career as a composer. In New York City he attended New School/Mannes College of Music, studying film scoring. Later he attended the New York Film Academy to study screenwriting, directing, and production.

Jeremy went on to work as a Director of Photography for "The Rend Project", a modern dance television program associated with the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio that aired on television in New York. After this he worked as a producer on a variety of independent film projects in New York, in addition to writing and directing his own independent film projects: one of which, a short film titled "A Still Small Voice", he scored the music for and recorded it with the Sophia Metropolitan Orchestra, a fifty piece orchestra in Sophia, Bulgaria. He later went on to co-produce four sub-contracted Sesame Street segments, in addition to working as an assistant on Donald Trump’s "The Apprentice", "ESPN 2", "The Third Watch" and other film and television productions. In the year 2007 he composed and orchestrated a full-length album of orchestral works with the Belgrade Symphonic Studio Ensemble. Jeremy now resides in Los Angeles, California where he works on scoring music for many applications, including Feature Film, Independent Film & Shorts, Television, Commercial, Radio and other Media.
